Denatured Ethanol w/ 5% N-Heptane or CDA 12-A 200 is a completely denatured Ethyl Alcohol typically used during the plant extraction process and as a solvent in cleaning the oil during the winterization/ purification process. This is a blended azeotropic product made up of 95% (200 Proof Food and USP Grade Ethanol) with 5% (High Purity n-Heptane), which is an industry approved standard solvent. It evaporates completely and leaves no taste. Because n-Heptane has a higher boiling point than Ethanol, it may be necessary to heat the evaporator to a higher temperature (+5-10°C).
