Description

Portable Spray Booth | USA Lab

Portable Spray Booths, manufactured by Sentry Air Systems, are high-performance air filtration solutions for light spray painting, aerosol sprays, and other processes that emit hazardous paint fumes. This desktop paint booth is built to help contain overspray, capture fine particulate, and reduce unwanted odors—creating a safer breathing zone for the operator.

Designed for indoor environments where external ducting is not practical or desired, the Portable Spray Booth does not require any external venting. It uses a three-tier filtration approach that can include an internal spray filter for overspray, HEPA filtration for fine particulate, and activated carbon filtration for odors and VOCs.

Whether you’re spraying small parts, touch-up coatings, epoxies, or specialty finishes, this compact unit helps keep fumes and particulate controlled while keeping installation costs low.

Filtration requirements vary by paint chemistry. Review your SDS and consult our specialists for optimal filter selection.
For specialty paints, activated carbon can be impregnated to improve VOC/odor capture.

FAQ

What is a Portable Spray Booth?

A Portable Spray Booth is a compact enclosure designed to isolate fumes and vapors expelled during painting, epoxy, and coating applications. The Portable Spray Booth helps capture overspray and reduce airborne contaminants, creating a safer breathing zone for the operator.

How does a Portable Spray Booth work?

The Portable Spray Booth uses filtration to remove contaminants from the air stream. In most configurations, it uses a three-part filtration process: an internal spray filter for overspray, a HEPA filter for fine particulate, and an activated carbon filter for odors and VOCs.

Do Portable Spray Booths work against VOCs?

Yes. Portable Spray Booth VOC performance depends on the paint chemistry and SDS details. In most cases, activated carbon filtration will work, and for specialty paints the carbon can be impregnated to improve odor and VOC capture in the Portable Spray Booth.

Are DIY Portable Spray Booths effective?

DIY spray booths can be effective if optimally built, but they carry risks when filtration and airflow are not properly engineered. The Portable Spray Booth from Sentry Air Systems utilizes a three-part filtration system (MERV 7 pre-filter for overspray, HEPA for fine particulate, and activated carbon for odors/VOCs) that is highly efficient and typically not matched by DIY projects.

What safety considerations should I follow when using a Portable Spray Booth?

Safe operation of a Portable Spray Booth is critical. Visually inspect the booth frequently, limit pedestrian traffic in front of the hood, place bulky equipment at the rear of the hood, raise large equipment at least 2” off the surface to allow airflow, and establish a regular cleaning schedule if the Portable Spray Booth is used often.
