W4 is an alkaline bleaching clay specialized for the removal of pesticides, chlorophyll, free fatty acids, and oxidized compounds. It removes pesticides through adsorption and hydrolysis. Pesticides undergo alkaline hydrolysis, in which a pH greater than 7 causes chemical degradation of certain pesticides in the presence of ions.
